Michael J. Snyder

Past President


Michael J. Snyder has been a General Practicing Attorney for 33 years in the North Miami Beach area. His main focus has been in real estate, land use, wills and probate. He was past President of the North Dade Bar Association. In addition to being the Lifetime Director of the Chamber of Commerce, he has also been the Director for 33 years. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1974 as the outstanding leader of his class, Phi Beta Kappa. He and his lovely wife, Karen have raised five children. He is not only a true native of North Miami Beach, but the son of the first judge, Arthur I. Snyder who was also mayor for several terms. As one would gather, North Miami Beach runs deeply in the Snyder family.

Evan Piper

Vice President

Evan Piper has been a resident of North Miami Beach since 1972 where he attended Sabal Palm Elementary, J.F.K. Jr. High and N.M.B. Senior High. He graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Business Administration. Evan’s professional certifications include State Licensed General Contractor, ASE Master Automotive Technician, FAA Licensed Commercial Pilot & Flight Instructor and FAA Licensed Aircraft Mechanic. His business, The Piper Companies, includes several entities including Piper Construction, Piper Automotive & Marine Service, Inc. and Piper Medical, Mobility & Accessibility. In addition, Evan is the Chairman of the N.M.B. Planning & Zoning Board, Chairman of the N.M.B. Advisory Committee for Disabled Individuals as well as a Vice President of the Chamber. Evan is the proud father of Andrew, who is currently attending University of Florida and Brian, who is currently attending Michael Krop High School. When not working or volunteering, Evan can be found practicing his many hobbies including Wheelchair Tennis, Flying, Boating, Wave Running and Waterskiing as well as showing that nothing, including a disability, can hold him back from accomplishing his goals and passions, and encourages many people through his motivational lectures and speaking engagements.

Ellis Adger


Ellis Adger has been a member of the Greater North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce since 1984. He is a Lifetime Director and Past-President (1994).
He is currently a National Account Manager at Florida Power and Light Company (FPL). Ellis has served in various positions at FPL, during his 32 year career, including External Affairs Manager, Customer Service and Sales Manager and Consumer Services Supervisor.
Ellis has previously served as chairman of the North Miami Energy Advisory Board, FPL Good Government Management Association (PAC), and Camillus House Advisory Board. He is also a member of the mentoring organization, 100 Black Men of South Florida, where he currently serves as Vice President of Operations. He was recently appointed to one of the Florida Bar Miami Grievance Committees.
Ellis is a native of Miami, Florida and a graduate of Miami Killian Senior High School. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and is an Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Ellis is married and has a son who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and daughter who lives in New York City.

Paul Lemay

Paul Lemay is Regional Property Manager of The Centro Properties Group and owner of The Mall at 163rd Street, a retail fixture in the Greater NMB area for over 50 years. Paul is past President of the GNMBCC from Oct 2007 – May 2010, and a Trustee of College Summit 2009-2010. He is a graduate of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. He has been a high school teacher in the US, Europe and Puerto Rico and began his property management career at Yale University. He has lived in Parkland, FL for 19 years where he proudly raised his three daughters. He currently enjoys riding one of his Indian motorcycles whenever the sun shines.

Tara Saltzman, Ph.D.

Tara Saltzman, Ph.D. is Associate Dean, Abraham S. Fischler School of Education, Nova Southeastern University. As an Associate Dean of the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education (AFSE), Dr. Tara Saltzman provides administrative leadership for Strategic Initiatives and Global Enterprise for Academic Development (SIGEAD), Marketing, Training and Organizational Development, Diversity and Cultural Affairs, and the Teacher Imaginarium, while also meeting the goals and objectives of the center and the university. She has a diverse background in education and corporate management, and has more than eight years of experience in teaching and training students across all education levels.

Her experience includes strategic planning and initiative development, corporate and educational leadership, curriculum development, as well as the evaluation and measurement of learning styles. Under Dr. Saltzman’s leadership, AFSE has successfully established valuable partnerships, expanded existing initiatives, improved, refined, and enhanced programs, and increased enrollment of qualified applicants.

Dr. Saltzman is an active participant in numerous professional, civic, and charitable organizations throughout the South Florida community.

Among her many accolades, Dr. Saltzman recently received a lifetime honorary membership to the Phi Gamma Sigma International Professional Society for Doctoral Graduates in appreciation for her vision, dedication and commitment to excellence. In addition, The Greater North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce has elected Dr. Tara Saltzman, Associate Dean, as a Board Member.

Dr. Saltzman holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Global Leadership with a concentration in educational and corporate leadership from Lynn University, a Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) with a specialization in varying exceptionalities, and a Bachelor’s of Arts (B.A.) in marketing and advertising from the University of Miami.

Yona S. Lunger

President

Yona S. Lunger is the founder of Chesed of South Florida, Jewish Diabetic Network, and Jewish Cancer Network. Mr. Lunger received his Masters in Rabbinical Social Studies, Grief and Crisis Counseling, and has a BA in Marketing. Mr. Lunger is on the G.M.J.F Chaplaincy Board, is a Clergy for Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach and in Aventura, Florida.He is the chair of The City of North Miami Beach Religious Committee, serves on the City of North Miami Beach Multicultural Board.

Barbara Kramer

Councilwoman, Barbara Kramer was born and raised in
North Miami Beach, Florida. Received her degree in Interior Design from International Fine Arts College. She is the sales manager for her family business, Ford Shutters, Shades and Draperies, which has been serving customers in South Florida since 1949. She is happily married with two sons, ages 14 and 17. Councilwoman Kramer was elected to The North Miami Beach City Council in May, 2009 and was just reelected for her second term. She serves as liaison to the City's Multi Cultural Committee as well as the General Employee's Retirement Board and also serves on the Miami Dade County Homeless Trust Board. Councilwoman Kramer has remained close to her roots and it shows in her commitment to our community.

Enrique Kaufer

Enrique Kaufer brings over 18 years of progressive experience in Marketing, Business Development and Management across different industries.
As Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development at Woolbright Development Inc, Mr. Kaufer is responsible for marketing initiatives for Woolbright’s shopping centers throughout Florida, as well as supporting multiple tenants with their marketing strategy and implementation. Prior to this role, Enrique led business development for Yahoo! Hispanic Americas. Previously he was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Levy Pollo Campero and Vice President of marketing for La Opinion, the largest Spanish language newspaper in the US. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and business development roles at American Express and the Pepsi-Cola Company.
Enrique has also assisted various small businesses with their marketing and business development initiatives in his role as a Managing Partner with Expansion Consulting Group, and through volunteering for various organizations.
Enrique holds an MBA from Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, as well as a Masters in Real Estate from the University of Florida. He received his BA degree in Economics from the University of California San Diego.
