Dear members
.
As manager of the largest retail center in
the North Miami Beach area, it is with great
pride that I servce as President of the chamber
of commerce. The Mall at 163rd Street has been
a local fixture for over fifty years, opening
fine shops and services to the residents of
North Miami Beach. In 2005 we were proud to
have complete the latest redevelopment of the
center, bringing a new roster or merchants along
with a visually-pleasing set of new building
and improvements. Tje project was an indication
of what private investment can do when there
is a commitment to the local trade areas. And
now that Centro Properties Group, an Astralian
REIT has purchased the Mall's parent company,
there is now an $8 billion company setting down
its roots right here in North Miami Beach. I
applaud all local firms that are members of
the Chamber and urge other companies to join
us in promoting the business opportunities that
are available. While one person alone may not
be able to move a stone. a group of people who
combine strengths can move a mountain. And that
mountain for us is to continue to improve the
North Miami Beach business climate so that our
residents may enjoy many diverse and beneficial
opportunities. I loo forward to the upcoming
year.
